The Department of Nursing within the Faculty of Health Sciences conducted the End-of-Fall-Semester Closing Meeting for the 2025–2026 Academic Year. The meeting was attended by Department Head Prof. Dr. Ayfer BAYINDIR ÇEVİK, Deputy Department Head Dr. Lecturer Ebru CİRBAN EKREM, and students from all classes. The meeting addressed a wide range of issues directly influencing students’ academic and social experiences, with particular emphasis placed on systematically incorporating student feedback and recommendations into institutional evaluations.

During the meeting, the accessibility of library and digital information resources—especially the facilities and services provided during the final examination period—was comprehensively reviewed. Students’ needs and expectations related to academic study conditions during examinations were examined in detail. The significance of the peer mentoring system as a supportive mechanism for academic achievement was highlighted, and student experiences, along with suggestions for further development of this system, were formally discussed.

Evaluations of the structure and implementation of theoretical and practical courses focused on their contribution to learning outcomes, challenges encountered in clinical and practice settings, and alignment with student expectations. Additionally, issues related to dormitory facilities and accommodation processes were addressed, and student perspectives and proposed solutions were considered within an institutional improvement framework.

In terms of supporting students’ psychological well-being, the services provided by the Psychological Counseling and Guidance (PCG) Center were reviewed, particularly in relation to stress management, examination anxiety, and adaptation to the local environment. The importance of utilizing these services and of active participation in academic advising meetings for effective academic planning and problem-solving was underscored.

The academic and social integration of international students constituted a key agenda item. Challenges encountered by international students and strategies to enhance their adaptation processes were evaluated. Furthermore, critical considerations regarding the upcoming Spring Semester course registration process were communicated, emphasizing the necessity of informed and deliberate course selection.

The meeting concluded with a structured discussion of students’ expectations, demands, and recommendations. In alignment with a student-centered educational approach, potential areas for institutional improvement were identified through mutual exchange. The Department of Nursing reaffirmed its commitment to continuously improving educational and training processes by fostering active student engagement and providing a supportive learning environment.
