Hospital Orientation Training Held for Nursing Department Students

A "Hospital Orientation Training" session, organized by the Nursing Department of the Bartın University (BARÜ) Faculty of Health Sciences for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students preparing for clinical practice, was held on September 25, 2026, from 13:30 to 15:30 at the Ağdacı Campus Conference Hall. Ninety-two nursing students attended the training, which was organized under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Dinç, Deputy Head of the Nursing Department.

During the session, Education Nurse Işın Kumcu and Infection Control Nurses Mualla Alacam and Nurhan Ayan delivered presentations on hospital practices within their respective areas of expertise. The speakers shared valuable information and drew upon their professional experiences to illustrate situations students might encounter during clinical practice. The training also covered infection prevention, hospital procedures, and key considerations for the safe delivery of healthcare services.

Following the presentations, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ebru Cirban Ekrem, Vice Dean of the Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences, presented certificates of appreciation to the speakers for their contributions.

In the final part of the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sibel Altıntaş, Head of the Nursing Department's Risk Assessment Unit, briefed the students on potential risks in the clinical environment, as well as the processes for taking precautions and monitoring these risks. The Hospital Orientation Training concluded after the students' questions regarding the clinical practice process were answered.
