HEPDAK (Nursing Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association) conducted evaluations within the scope of the accreditation process for the Nursing Department of Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences.

As part of the accreditation efforts, a Remote Evaluation was first held on November 19, 2025. During this process, our Faculty Dean, Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇELİK, Vice Deans Dr. Sibel ALTINTAŞ and Dr. Elif İŞLEK, responsible nurses from practice areas and hospitals, hospital administrators, mentor nurses, basic medical sciences instructors, and administrative staff participated in online meetings.
Subsequently, from November 23 to 25, 2025, HEPDAK conducted an On-Site Visit to our Department. During the initial stages of the site visit, the HEPDAK evaluation team carried out meetings with the senior administration at Bartın University Kutlubey Campus. In these meetings, including a session with our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet AKKAYA, the importance of quality assurance in education at our University, ongoing improvement efforts, and future vision were shared.
As part of the visit, the Head of the Nursing Department, Prof. Dr. Ayfer Bayındır ÇEVİK, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the accreditation process, key outcomes, continuous improvement efforts, and leadership in accreditation activities. The evaluation team also conducted meetings with faculty members, class representatives, and students, and visited educational facilities, the library, as well as recreation and sports areas. Additionally, selected practice sites and hospitals were inspected by the evaluation team.
The Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇELİK, emphasized that the contributions of all stakeholders have been crucial in the successful progress of our quality-based education journey, which began six years ago. She expressed her gratitude to the University Rectorate, all previous Nursing Department Heads who have successfully led the process, as well as the dedicated faculty members, administrative staff, and students for their invaluable support of the quality processes. The Nursing Department will continue its efforts to enhance educational quality and strengthen compliance with national standards through the evaluation process conducted by HEPDAK.
