“Hand Hygiene Training” Conducted in Collaboration with the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Health Services Vocational School

On May 5th, World Hand Hygiene Day, a “Hand Hygiene Training” was held on May 5, 2025, in collaboration with our Faculty and the Health Services Vocational School at the Ağdacı Conference Hall.The training was moderated by Lecturer Dr. Meryem SEVİM from the Physiotherapy Program of the Health Services Vocational School, and was presented by Lecturer Merve KIRŞAN BÜYÜKTARAKÇI from the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences. The presentation titled “Hand Hygiene” emphasized the critical role of hand hygiene in protecting health. It was noted that hands, which come into contact with numerous microorganisms in daily life, are an important vehicle for the spread of infections. Furthermore, it was stated that ensuring hand hygiene is a fundamental step in preventing infectious diseases.During the training, the correct handwashing technique was explained in detail, demonstrated practically, and applied together with the participants. The event, attended by academic staff and students, concluded with answers to the participants’ questions.
