As part of the April 1–7 National Cancer Week, an awareness event on cancer screenings was organized on April 10, 2026, through the collaboration of the Department of Public Health Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Bartın University, and the Bartın Provincial Health Directorate Community Health Center. The event was held in the cafeteria area of Bartın University Kutlubey Campus.

During the event, both Public Health Nursing internship students and nurses working at the Bartın Provincial Health Directorate Community Health Center actively participated in providing information to attendees about the importance of cancer screenings. Through posters and brochures prepared by students and healthcare professionals, the importance of early diagnosis was emphasized, highlighting the life-saving role of regular screening participation.

Additionally, the harmful effects of smoking, a major carcinogenic risk factor, were addressed, and the importance of smoking cessation was explained. Carbon monoxide measurements were conducted for participants to further raise awareness. Information was provided about Smoking Cessation Clinics, and counseling services were explained.

We would like to thank all students, healthcare professionals, and the Bartın Provincial Health Directorate Community Health Center for their valuable contributions to this well-attended event.
