Breast Cancer Awareness Webinar was Held on 18 October 2021 by the Nursing Department of our Faculty in cooperation with the Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center of our University.

Assoc. Dr. Moderated by Elif KARAHAN, an online event titled "Breast Cancer Awareness Webinar" was held on 18 October2021 as part of the 1-31 October Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In the event where distinguished speakers took part; Specialist Nurse Derya KARAKOYUN, who works at the Bartın Provincial Health Directorate, talked about the situation of breast cancer in the world and in Turkey, and talked about social prevention, the importance of early diagnosis and secondary prevention methods. Prof. Dr. Özgül KARAYURT, on the other hand, touched on the risk factors that cause breast cancer and the symptoms of breast cancer and emphasized that our women should seek health services without wasting time in the face of these symptoms.  Instructor Its member, Dr. Işıl IŞIK, made an impressive speech on the psychosocial problems experienced in breast cancer and shared important messages with all the participants. Finally, our faculty, Res. Asst. Özge UÇAR contributed to raising awareness and awareness by showing the anatomical structure of the breast, breast cancer findings, and methods of breast self-examination on a synchronous model from our laboratory.
After the certificates of appreciation were presented to all the speakers by Sevim ÇELİK, Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇELİK emphasized the importance of not ignoring breast cancer and said, 'Early Diagnosis Saves Lives!'. Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇELİK concluded by thanking the participants, valuable speakers, and organizing committee who showed great interest in the event we organized within the scope of 1-31 October Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
