The project titled "HeartSoundVR: Virtual Reality-Based Cardiac Auscultation Skill Training Application" led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilal Uysal, a faculty member of the Nursing Department at Bartın University's Faculty of Health Sciences, has been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK 1002-A Rapid Support Program.

This interdisciplinary project includes Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilal Uysal as the project leader, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seyfullah Gökoğlu from the Faculty of Science, Dr. Necmiye Çömlekçi from the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences, and Research Assistant Mert Tok from the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design. Bringing together health sciences and engineering fields, the project aims to provide an innovative perspective on educational technologies.

The project will develop an innovative virtual reality-based training application to improve the cardiac auscultation skills of nursing students. Equipped with realistic heart sounds, an interactive learning environment, and performance feedback features, the HeartSoundVR application will enable students to develop their clinical skills in a safe, controlled, and repeatable learning environment. The application is expected to support the effective use of digital technologies in nursing education, as well as improve the quality and accessibility of practical training. Furthermore, the project aims to contribute to the quality of patient care by strengthening nursing students' cardiac auscultation skills and to serve as an example for the development of innovative virtual reality-based educational materials that can be used in health education.
