''01-31 October Breast Cancer Awareness Event'' was held

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women, accounting for 30% of cancers seen in women. For this reason, events are held every year as Breast Cancer Awareness Month on 01-31 October in order to raise social awareness against breast cancer, which is an important health problem, and to emphasize early diagnosis. For this purpose, the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences organized the 01-31 October Breast Cancer Awareness Month event with the theme of "Together We Are Aware & We Are Strong" at the Ağdacı Campus Stadium of our University on October 14, 2022. Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Public spot information about breast cancer was shared by Sevim Çelik. Nursing Department students and lecturers who took part in the event were informed about the importance of breast cancer, risk factors and common symptoms. How to do breast self-examination was shown and explained practically on the model, and informative brochures prepared for the event were given. Under the leadership of Nil Başak Işir, one of the 4th grade students of the nursing department of our faculty, a yoga-meditation activity was held with music for awareness in breast cancer.
