Foreign Language Exemption Exam Announcement

Students admitted to our university (excluding students in the English Language Teaching and English Translation and Interpreting Programs), the exemption exams for the YDI-101 (Foreign Language English I) and YDI-102 (Foreign Language English II) courses for the 2026-2027 Academic Year will be held in person on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

The exams are open to students taking the course for the first time, as well as students who have previously taken the course and failed. Students who have taken a course to improve their grade are not allowed to take the exemption exams. Even if these students take the exams, their results will be considered INVALID.

- The exemption exam for YDI 101 Foreign Language English I and YDI 102 Foreign Language English II consists of two sections of 20 multiple-choice questions each . There are a total of 40 questions . Questions 1 to 20 pertain to the Fall Semester course Foreign Language English I (YDI 101), and questions 21 to 40 pertain to the Spring Semester course Foreign Language English II (YDI 102). The exam duration is 50 minutes. Assessments are separate for each section and are independent of each other.

- Each student will take the exam in the building belonging to their unit. Please check your unit's website

for the classrooms where the exams will be held . - Taking the exemption exams is optional. Participation in the exams is not mandatory. Students who wish to be exempted from the courses can take the exams. Students who wish to take the exams must apply to their unit.

- Following the evaluations conducted after the completion of the exams, the list of students who will be considered "exempt" will be notified to the relevant units.

The deadline for applications is September 17, 2026, at the end of business hours. Applications received after this date will not be accepted.
